Second Day, Last Post

Mileage Today: 448
Total Mileage: 767

Linda was back to her old self when she woke up this morning and I think she enjoyed the drive today.

We stopped for the night in Torrey, UT, at the doorstep of Capitol Reef National Park. The photo was taken from the door of our room at the local Howard Johnson motel.

The weather today was great - clear, blue skies with temps in the 80s. A little windy at times, but in a car that doesn't seem to matter much.

We spotted a huge fire in the Beaver, UT area. Its boiling smoke looked like a hydrogen bomb had gone off. We headed east before getting a real good look at it - we'll be checking the local news tonight.

We spent a good part of the day driving the Extra Terrestrial Highway across Nevada. We were glad to be in our Toyota, getting 38 mpg.

Tomorrow, we're going to do a little exploring of Capitol Reef National Park before continuing on to Mesa Verde and Durango, CO. We should have time to check out Mesa Verde before stopping in Durango, CO tomorrow night.
